Philanthropy in Action

Parents make a significant financial commitment to send their children to LES.We are grateful that they have entrusted their children to us and we strive each day to provide the best education, the most nurturing environment possible.

There is still a gap between the operating budget and tuition revenue, and a need to fund new initiatives to enhance teaching at learning at LES. Previous fundraising efforts have been critical to growing our music and arts program and creating our Art Studio; expanding our junior high Spanish program; more recently supporting the school during COVID to make our facility even safer, and to help us keep our class sizes small.This year our fundraising efforts are going towards “The Gift of Play.”Even before COVID, we recognize how critical physical free play is to our student’s social emotional, physical, and academic growth.

Additionally, just like the community of Bay Ridge, our school is diverse, socioeconomically.We strive to make our education available to all families, including those who may need financial assistance.Our annual fundraising is critical in making our tuition more accessible to all families.

Our Annual Fund, including November’s National “Giving Tuesday,” our annual Walk-A-Thon and the Dinner Dance are our largest fundraisers each year.

Thank you to everyone who supports these efforts so that we can continue to offer the small, nurturing environment and academic rigor our families expect, as well as to enrich our program further with updates to our curriculum and facilities.
